Responsibilities
INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES
- Call insurances and use online tools to obtain benefits
- Update patient benefits under the patient's chart
- Goes over patient insurance data to determine if a pre-authorization or referral is needed
- Communicates with patients to obtain updated insurance card and information
- Make certain all insurance information in system is current
- Cross-trained to check-out patients and collect co-pays, deductibles as necessary
- Send letters to patients regarding balances
- Take payments over the phone from patients calling in
- All other duties as assigned by office manager or director of operations
